Chelsea have reportedly agreed a transfer fee with Leeds United for Raphinha according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
At the start of the transfer window Barcelona were favourites to sign the Brazil international, but Barcelona was not able to meet Leeds United valuation of over £50m. Barcelona assumed that they could sign the player for less than Leeds valuation, but the club held firm to their valuation. Arsenal saw an opportunity to sign the player. Their first offer was rejected and Arsenal were still in discussions with Leeds for the player’s signature.
Chelsea have today agreed fee of between £60m and £65m for the player according to Fabrizio. Chelsea are now due to discuss personal terms with the player
The personnel terms are not expected to be an issue for Chelsea.
Chelsea coming in and reaching an agreement as fast as they did view Raphinha as an important part of their rebuild. Arsenal saw an opportunity to add a quality player to their ranks, but with Saka, Martinelli and Emile Smith Rowe as first choice, Arsenal has got enough quality in the wide forward areas.
