There have been many articles this week that Arsenal are close to signing Alvaro Morata for £25m
Morata is a good striker, but I doubt that Arsenal would go for a player that doesn’t score many goals. We have one already in Alexandre Lacazette. He is 29 years old and he is not first choice for his parent club Atletico Madrid or Juventus, where he was on loan last season.
I am not suggesting that it’s impossible that Arsenal could be after him, but recent transfer activities would indicate this news to be false.
There is no doubt that Arsenal are in the market for a new first choice striker. It is likely that Arsenal have already identified their top choices and my guess is that they are all under 25 years old. The transfer business last season also supports this assumption.
There will be many articles published claiming Arsenal are after many players. Majority will be incorrect and speculation, but they are always fun to read.
